Do you want to buy a skateboard (online)? Then Revert 95 is the right place for you. As a skate shop with more than 25 years of experience, we can definitely help you find a good board. Choosing a new skateboard is not the hardest choice you'll ever have to make, but for some skaters it comes close. Especially beginners find it hard to choose a skateboard that suits them. With so many different brands, sizes, shapes and separate parts, it's also hard to know where to start.
Specialised skate shop
The fact that skateboards aren't really cheap doesn't help either when it comes to making a quick choice. Still, it's better not to go to the toy shop because the boards are cheaper there. These skateboards break down much faster and unlike 'real' skateboards, the separate parts can't be replaced. So these boards are a typical case of 'cheap is expensive'. As a specialised skate shop, we only sell skateboards and parts from professional brands like Alien Workshop, Birdhouse Skateboards,PALACE,Sk8mafia and Independent. All individual parts of these skateboards can be bought and replaced separately. Moreover, as a specialised skateboard shop, we can always help you with expert advice.
Complete skateboard or composite?
A skateboard always consists of a deck (the plank), trucks (the axles), wheels, griptape and ball bearings. The first thing to consider is whether you have a complete setIf you want to buy a complete skateboard, or put together a setup yourself from all these separate parts, it's often cheaper to buy a complete skateboard. A complete skateboard is often cheaper. The quality of the parts of a complete is also comparable to that of the loose hardware you can find in our shop. The only disadvantage is that the choice of completes is more limited. If you want to get that one deck If you don't want to have those fine trucks, you'll have to put together your own skateboard. This is, of course, more fun. In general, we recommend people who are just starting out to start with a complete set. When you have more experience, you know better what you want and you can choose the deck, wheels and trucks that you like to skate.
Once you know which of the two options you are going for, you need to decide which size skateboard suits you best. This is where many beginner skaters get lost. But don't worry. As a beginner, it's almost impossible to determine the right size and shape, because you simply don't know what you want yet. Of course there are some general guidelines that you can stick to. For example, there are special miniboards for children, but kids from 12 years old can already ride an 'adult' skateboard. Not only your body plays an important role when choosing a skateboard, but also your personality. skateboard deckbut also the skateboard style you have in mind. Street skaters who do a lot of technical flip tricks often choose a narrower deck (7.5" to 8"). If you want to skate pools and ramps, you better choose the stability of a wider deck. Skaters who mainly want to cruise or want to go back to the old school era, can choose an even wider deck (above 8.25") or one of our many cruisers.
Skateboards are to be used
Whatever skateboard you ultimately choose, you will have to take into account that sooner or later it will break down. After all, skateboarding is not good for skateboards. And sometimes skateboarding isn't good for your body either ;-) If you're just starting with skateboarding, think about protection such as a helmet or wrist or elbow protectors. An accident can happen at any time! Decks can break and trucks and wheels can wear out. With the skateboards and hardware of the professional brands we sell, you can be sure of the best possible quality and the hottest style.
