Alien Workshop skateboards are available online at Revert 95. This legendary skateboard brand was founded in 1990 in Dayton, Ohio by Chris Carter, Neil Blender and Mike Hill. The trio started Alien Workshop because they felt there was a need for a different type of skateboard company. The Ohio-based brand distinguished itself from the laidback vibe of many Californian skateboard brands with a jaded, cautionary message of paranoia and futurism. While other brands were cashing in on skateboarding's huge popularity in the 90s by focusing on the lowest common denominator, Alien Workshop stuck to its unique, abstract mission. With success, Alien Workshop managed to establish a solid market position among its Californian counterparts and grow into one of the most popular skateboard brands on the planet.
Teamriders from Alien Workshop
Today, the iconic alien logo may not be as ubiquitous as it was in the '90s, but the brand is still going strong. The team alone, with established rippers like Sammy Montano, Franky Spears and Joey Guevara, proves that the brand is still one of the big boys. Rob Dyrdek is anyway an important name in the history of the company.
Alien Workshop skater-owned again
He was AW's first team rider in the early 90s and stunned the skateboarding world in 2012 by taking over the brand that gave him his first sponsorship contract more than 20 years earlier from Burton Snowboards, which had bought the company from Chris Carter in 2008. So Alien Workshop is skater-owned again. Although the company has changed hands a number of times, the brand continues to do what it does best: manufacture high quality skateboards and products and send a strange message into the world. Alien Workshop keeps skateboarding weird.
