Krooked Skateboards was founded in San Francisco by skateboarder and artist Mark Gonzales, who is also the creative director of the brand. He does all the design, advertising and graphics for Krooked. The brand's products, including wheels, decks and T-shirts, are instantly recognisable by Gonz' fresh, cheerful and colourful artwork. Gonzales is considered one of the pioneers of street skating. He was the first skater to ollie and kickflip the famous Embarcadero gap and the first to skate handrails. Before founding Krooked, he rode for Real and Blind, a brand he founded because he was not satisfied with his former sponsor Vision. Besides Gonz, the Krooked team consists of top skaters like Mike Anderson, Dan Drehobl and Bobby Worrest. The team skaters all have their own pro model, but Krooked also releases guest boards from skaters who skate for other brands. Krooked also makes great cruisers like the Zip Zinger and Zig Zagger. Krooked skateboards are made in the same factory as Real and Anti Hero, so they are just as solid as the boards from these famous brands.
