K2 originated in the backcountry of the Northwest of the US. This is where K2-founder Bill Kirschner started making fibreglass skis in 1961. The brand was a pioneer and still is. In 1987, K2 produced its first snowboard, the Gyrator. This progressive board with cap construction revolutionised snowboarding. It was followed by many technical innovations, like Hybrid Technology, Torsion Box Construction and the Fatbob board for big feet. When it comes to bindings, K2 introduced many innovations, like the Freestyle Vario binding, with a disc for precise stance adjustments, and the step-in binding. Thanks to their innovative designs and production methods, K2 is one of the few ski brands that has become successful in snowboarding as well. The last couple of years, K2 and their team of pro riders have developed new innovations like Rocker Construction, Flatline Construction and Eco Conscious Construction. Besides the technical qualities, K2 offers very good value for money. We have bindings and boards for every type of boarder and for all levels.
