Skateboard decks from the coolest skateboard brands can be found online and in the shop at Revert 95. Professional skateboard decks come in all shapes and sizes, but almost all of them consist of seven layers of Canadian maple wood, held together by high quality resin epoxy glue. Every once in a while, a brand comes along that claims to make its decks stronger and lighter with iron, carbon or plastic, but up to now, no novelty has been able to knock off the traditional seven ply maple construction. Now that you know that the construction of most skateboards is the same, you want to know what the differences are. Well, in size and shape for example. Boards for kids up to 12 years of age are smaller, but slightly older children can already ride 'adult' decks. Besides the size of your body, you have to take into account the skateboard style you have in mind. Street skaters who go for technical flip tricks are better off with a smaller deck (7.5" to 8"), while pool and vert rippers often choose the stability of a wider deck. Skaters who mainly want to cruise or want to go back to the old school era, can opt for an even wider deck (over 8.25") or one of our many cruisers. The shape is especially important for technical skaters; do you want a lot of concave or little, a long, gradually rising nose or a short, steep one? The more experience you gain, the better you know what shape suits you. A more obvious aspect is the graphic of your board.
