Review 95 - Vans

Check out our Revert Review on the Vans Sk8 Hi Pro here!

Vans was founded in 1966 in Cypress, California by brothers Paul and James van Doren. In 1975, Vans really became known among skateboarders with the iconic "Off The Wall" line. "Of The Wall" is a term that stands for the skateboarders who used empty swimming pools as their pool to skate in in the mid 70s.
Thanks to the durable construction and high quality, Vans soon became the favourite shoe among Cali's skateboarders. Vans still plays a big role in the skateboard scene, and has now released an upgrade, which offers even more grip and support while skating.

A true classic skate shoe, which was released in early 1978 and despite its age is still the skate shoe with the most attention. With the current retro hype, a shoe with a retro vintage is more popular.

After 50 years on the market, vans celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016 with a new line of Vans, namely the true classics in pro version. The vans Authentic, Era, Old Skool, Slip on and Sk8 Hi have had an upgrade to the pro series. A renewed classic for better performance.

The Vans Pro Sk8 Hi skateboard shoes feature improvements for better control while skateboarding: the Ultrcush HD footbed keeps the foot close to the board for the best cushioning, the original Vans waffle sole is made of rubber that provides superior grip and support, and the Pro Vulc construction offers the extra comfort and protection for an optimal board feel. The shoes are extra reinforced in the areas that get the most wear and tear when skateboarding thanks to the rubber DURACAP reinforcements, which also makes the shoes a lot more durable.
