Tired Skateboards is the brainchild of artist Piet Parra, and came to life with the help of Big Time Distribution (also known for Skate Mental ). We all know Parra, of course, as the man behind the clothing brand By Parra. That he would start a skateboard brand might not have been exactly what you'd expect, but it actually makes perfect sense. Before Parra became a famous illustrator, he was already making waves in the Dutch skateboarding scene under his real name Pieter Jansen. He even played pro for a while for the Dutch Colorblind Skateboards. Now a few years older, Parra isn't targeting pro skateboarders with Tired. Tired is aimed at veterans like himself; at guys who are already out of breath after one or two ollies. At people who have muscle soreness for days after an hour of skateboarding, and men the same age as the security guards who kick them out. And finally, at all the people who will never turn pro, but still think skateboarding is the most fun thing there is. This not-too-serious marketing strategy is combined with Parra's signature, instantly recognizable illustrations and vintage-inspired board shapes.
