Tired Skateboards is the brainchild of artist Piet Parra, and has come to life with the help of the guys at Big Time Distribution (also known for Skate Mental). We all know Parra, of course, as the big man behind clothing brand By Parra. The fact that he would start a skateboard brand was perhaps not really in the line of expectation, but is actually quite logical. Before Parra became a well-known illustrator, he already created a furore in the Dutch skateboard scene under his real name Pieter Jansen. He was even a pro for the Dutch company Colorblind Skateboards for a while. Now a few years older, Parra with Tired does not focus on skateboarders who want to turn pro. Tired focuses on veterans like himself; on guys who are out of breath after one or two ollies. Tired focuses on people whose muscles ache for days after an hour of skateboarding and on men who are as old as the guards who kick them out. And finally, to all the people who will never become professionals, but love skateboarding the most. This not-too-serious marketing strategy is combined with Parra's distinctive, instantly recognisable illustrations and vintage-inspired boardshapes.
