Shaun grew up in the skate, surf and snowboard culture and started making shirts that he sold out of his backpack. When he moved to Utah later that year, and wanted to involve pro-snowboarders and skaters, he came up with the idea to focus his brand entirely on headwear. That way, well-known pros could wear his products without getting into trouble with their clothing sponsor. This is how Neff became the first pure headwear brand aimed at surfers, skaters and snowboarders. Today, Neff is the market leader in this niche market and also manufactures clothing, watches and sunglasses. Even today, famous snowboarders, skaters and surfers are the company's flagship brands, such as Scotty Lago, Louie Vito, Greg Lutzka and Kolohe Andino. Neff's designs can be recognised by their bright colours and fun prints. How founder Shaun Neff himself describes his brand?
