The name tells the whole story: Enjoi Skateboards stands for enjoying and having fun on your skateboard. Marc Johnson founded Enjoi in 2000 out of dissatisfaction with his sponsor at the time, A-Team Skateboards, which he felt was all about marketing and making money. With Enjoi, Marc tried to regain the joy of skateboarding. The panda logo and the name Enjoi appeared to Marc in a dream. His former A-team colleague Rodney Mullen helped Marc set up the brand and joined Enjoi's skate team, which consisted of big names like Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta and Dave Mayhew. Apart from this strong team, Enjoi distinguished itself by its colourful, humorous and sometimes controversial graphics. Marc personally made all the ads, board graphics and catalogues for the first few years, so he hardly had any time left to skate himself. At one point, he was fed up with it and left his 'baby' to ride for Chocolate Skateboards. Matt Eversole succeeded Marc as brand director, and under his guidance Enjoi released his first skateboarding film, called 'Bag of Suck'. The video was named "Skate Video of the Year" by Transworld and Jerry Hsu's part was voted best video part at the same awards. It was later followed by well-known videos such as 'Tweak the Beef' and 'Oververt'. In 2013, Matt Eversole left Enjoi, and pro skater Louie Barletta has been running the company ever since. Not without success: the Enjoi team, which currently includes rippers like Ben Raemers, Jose Rojo, Cairo Foster and 'our' Wieger van Wageningen, was named skate team of the year in 2014. In addition, the brand continues to distinguish itself with quirky graphics, and the familiar panda is also still present. Enjoi!
