Skate start-ups are popping up like mushrooms these days. All of them claim to distinguish themselves from the mainstream and corporate brands by their philosophy, marketing and offerings. But the striking thing about this trend is that it's only skateboard decks and clothing brands. There have been almost no new skate shoe brands in the last five years. State Footwear is about to change that! Kevin Furtado, former brand director of Dekline, is doing what any sane person would not do; start a new skate shoe brand in these uncertain and hectic times.
And we are super stoked that he took this bold step, because be honest, Nike SB, Converse Cons, and adidas skateboarding have virtually no (new) competition and have been dominating the skate scene for years. With State Footwear, the choice in real skate shoes becomes a little bigger again.
The brand name State is actually "The Free and Independent State". In other words, fck the rules, let's do our own thing. Just like we are at Revert 95.
The first delivery of State Footwear at Revert 95 consists of models: Mercer, Elign X Jordan Sanchez and Madison. The collection will be expanded with new models and apparel. So keep an eye on the site.
