Construction of the skate park
The construction has really started! The piles are in the ground, 12 of them and 12 metres deep, and the groundwork on the plot, such as excavating and applying the formwork for the concrete, has been in place for a few weeks now! The construction of the hall is now in full swing and also the steel construction of the roof is being built at this moment.
Media moment with the municipality of Haarlem
Recently, the Haarlem newspaper also visited (picture below) the pouring of the foundations of the park on Mincklersweg. The municipality rents the park ground to the foundation and they are confident that the park can operate so successfully. Foundation Skatepark Haarlem has ensured that with limited resources a hall will be built, for the layout of the hall and the catering, your help is still needed!
Thomas' initiative made other skaters enthusiastic about helping with the crowdfunding. They are now on the road as ambassadors of the Skatepark (in schools, clubs etc...) with the aim of getting as many people as possible enthusiastic about the Skatepark. Supernice work boys & girls!
Catering at the Skatepark
Now that the hall is being built, a number of volunteers are already focusing on the catering for Skatepark Haarlem. The catering facilities will not be located in the same hall as the skatepark, but will be attached to it. For this purpose, the skate park foundation is still looking for a second-hand beach pavilion, a demountable shed, a romney hall, emergency rooms on offer or a better idea. We have looked at many options, but often the transport costs are very high. If you have any ideas or can help us, please let us know.
