Brixton history and philosophy
Brixton was founded in 2004 in a garage in Oceanside, California, by three friends: David Stoddard, Jason Young, and Mike Chapin. David came up with the name Brixton. While working at Transworld Magazine, he had already come up with the name Brixton. He spray-painted it on his skateboard and surfboard, and everyone thought it was a good name and logo. Together with his friends and Transworld colleagues Jason and Mike, David decided to establish Brixton as a brand. They each had their own specialties at the start: David Stoddard was the creative and the one with a clear vision for the brand. Jason Young was the sales and logistics expert, and Chapin was the finance guy. A dream team indeed, for launching a new brand.
