Baker skateboards and skateboard wheels can be found at Revert 95 in Haarlem and in the online shop. Baker was founded by pro skater Andrew Reynolds, because he and his friends thought the existing skateboard companies were lame. Andrew went to his sponsor Birdhouse and asked Tony Hawk and Per Welinder to help him set up a new company, or he would quit and take a bunch of team riders with him and start his own company. They chose the former, and in 1999 Baker was set up as part of Blitz Distribution. Soon after, Baker became Blitz Distribution's best-selling brand. Baker's success was partly due to unpolished videos like Baker Bootleg and Baker 2G. These videos featuring Andrew, Jim Greco and Heath Kirchart quickly gained cult status in the skateboarding world. The name Baker came about because the founders were often "baked", under the influence of marijuana. The messy logo was designed by Jay Strickland. According to Drew, it represents the motley crew of talented skateboarders that is Baker.
