Did you know that RVCA (pronounced Roeka) means clothes in Greek? The brand was founded in Pat Tenore's garage in 2001 in Costa Mesa, California. He grew up in a deprived neighbourhood in San Francisco's Mission District and spent his youth skating and surfing. At 14, he got his first surf sponsorship deal and things went uphill from there. When he was 20, he decided to found RVCA, with which the idea started with pen on a napkin. Now the brand is known worldwide.
